Hussein El Shahat scored Al Ahly’s 700th goal in African club competitions during Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup meeting with Ugandan side Kitara FC.
The Egyptian forward opened the scoring in the 37th minute at Cairo International Stadium in the second leg of the competition’s round of 32, giving Al Ahly the lead.
The goal was a landmark moment for the Cairo club, taking its total to 700 goals across its African competitions. It also added another significant achievement to El Shahat’s record after his decisive contributions in previous continental campaigns.
El Shahat’s strike underlined Al Ahly’s enduring status in African football. The Egyptian club has established itself as one of the continent’s leading forces over several decades, and the forward’s goal provided another notable entry in its history.
Against Kitara FC, El Shahat did more than break the deadlock: he became the player to deliver a historic milestone for Al Ahly on the continental stage.
