ZIMBABWE’S senior men’s rugby team is set to host Namibia on October 24 in a match scheduled to be played at the National Sports Stadium.
The fixture marks the return of rugby to the giant sports stadium, which was recently renovated.
The upcoming clash against Namibia is part of the Sables’ preparations for their November tour of Europe.
In November, Zimbabwe will tour Europe, where they will face Samoa on November 7 before taking on Uruguay on November 14.
They will then complete their tour on November 21 against Chile, with the match set to be played in France.
The National Sports Stadium has recently hosted a number of high-profile football matches, including Warriors and Mighty Warriors fixtures, following the renovations.
The Zimbabwe Rugby Union’s decision to stage the match at the giant stadium is expected to attract a sizeable crowd and further raise the profile of rugby in the country.
The union has pegged Rest of Ground tickets at US$1, while Grand Stand tickets will cost US$3. VIP tickets have been set at US$50.
