Real Madrid are preparing to take Vinicius Jr’s suspension case to Spain’s Administrative Court of Sport (TAD), according to The Athletic’s Guillermo Rai.
The move comes after the Spanish Football Federation’s Appeals Committee rejected the club’s latest attempt to overturn the Brazilian winger’s four-match ban.
Vinicius was dismissed during Real Madrid’s La Liga victory over Villarreal after pulling an opponent’s hair, triggering disciplinary action that could affect the club’s upcoming fixtures.
With the punishment threatening his availability for the highly anticipated Barcelona clash on October 25, Madrid are reportedly exploring another legal avenue.
The four-match suspension consists of two games for the hair-pulling incident and an additional two matches linked to his conduct towards the referee following his dismissal.
Madrid previously challenged the decision through the federation’s disciplinary process, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
According to Rai’s report, the club now intends to present its case to TAD, an independent body responsible for resolving sports-related legal disputes in Spain.
However, the latest appeal does not guarantee that Vinicius’ suspension will be reduced or overturned.
If the punishment remains unchanged, Vinicius will miss Real Madrid’s match against Sevilla, followed by the El Clasico meeting with Barcelona on October 25.
He would also be unavailable for subsequent fixtures against Racing Santander and Valencia.
His absence against Barcelona would be a major setback for Madrid, given his importance to their attacking threat.
