De Groot, Ma'u, Holland and Tavatavanawai are established members of the Dunedin-based club, Frizell has returned from a three-season stint in Japan, and Jacomb has transferred from the Chiefs.
Apart from Frizell, who has a knee injury, all have been selected for the All Blacks' northern tour.
The arrival of Jacomb has coincided with Cam Millar moving to the Blues but that has also been offset by Patrick Pellegrini joining the squad after Moana Pasifika folded.
"All Blacks coming back in at the start of the pre-season can generally be a little bit tired, but I'm really excited because with next year - it's a World Cup year - there's new All Blacks,'' Joseph said when his squad was revealed on Wednesday.
While de Groot has been a member of the All Blacks since 2021, Holland and Tavatatanawai didn't get selected until last year and Ma'u and Jacomb were recruited during the recent tour of South Africa and Baltimore.
Frizell, who played at the World Cup in France in 2023 prior to moving to Japan, was picked for two Bledisloe Cup tests against the Wallabies. He injured a knee in Bledisloe II in Sydney.
"With Saula Ma'u going away into the All Blacks [and] I still feel that Fabian is a relatively young All Black - certainly a young man with lots of years ahead of him,'' Joseph added.
