Northwestern NFL Draft history on display in special Ryan Field lounge

The 2020s have seen an uptick in Northwestern's presence in the NFL Draft. Given how well the current team is doing and how nice the new stadium is, we could see the Wildcats' representation in the draft increase even further.

As Shakespeare wrote in The Tempest, "past is prologue," and you can see NU's draft history come alive in the new stadium's Recruiting Lounge. The new Ryan Field, less than a month old and almost $900,000,000 in cost, contains a ton of first-class amenities, and elite level bells and whistles.

As you can see in this tweet from the Daily Northwestern's Kamran Nia, the recruiting lounge is incredible.

As is displayed in my tweet here, the recruiting lounge's walls feature a list of all the current Wildcats in the NFL. It also contains massive imagery of NU's three first round picks from this decade:

Rashawn Slater (13th overall to the Los Angeles Chargers in 2021), Greg Newsome II (26th overall to the Cleveland Browns in 2021) and Peter Skoronski (11th overall to the Tennessee Titans in 2023).

Obviously, this serves as a major inspiration for the next wave of Wildcats, who are working hard, to try and reach that next level; just like these guys did.

To quote the legendary American poet Maya Angelou: “If you don’t know where you’ve come from, you don’t know where you’re going.”
