Oscar Bobb scored late to give Fulham a 1-0 Premier League win at Coventry City and a second consecutive victory. In a match that was otherwise short on quality, Bobb beat a defender inside a crowded penalty area and drove a fine strike into the bottom corner for the only goal.
Fulham came closest to opening the scoring in the first half when Josh King’s effort hit the crossbar. The rebound fell to Alex Iwobi, but he could not convert from close range. Coventry’s most threatening moments came through counter-attacks led by Brandon Thomas-Asante, though they could not produce a final ball or finish.
Fulham had penalty appeals rejected shortly before half-time. Calvin Bassey was judged to have pulled an opponent’s shirt before being dragged down by Thomas-Asante in the box.
Coventry then suffered a setback when defender Bobby Thomas, who has been a bright spot in a backline tested heavily this season, was forced off with an injury in the 60th minute.
Coventry continued to absorb pressure and look for chances on the break. They produced some quick, dangerous moves but could not find a way to score.
The result gives Fulham their first away league win in nine matches and moves them up to 12th on eight points, two above Coventry. Coventry are 19th.
