Yves Bissouma shared photographs from behind the scenes after Ajax’s 2-0 victory over Atalanta, including a light-hearted exchange with fellow substitute Abdellah Ouazane.
The Malian midfielder, who is not eligible to play in the Champions League, waited for his Ajax team-mates in the corridors of the Johan Cruijff ArenA after the match.
As Ouazane, who had come off the bench and scored, made his way down the stairs, Bissouma greeted him enthusiastically.
“Lamine Yamal!” he shouted, jokingly comparing the young Ajax player with the Barcelona forward, before bursting into laughter.
Bissouma also gave Tolu a warm welcome. The 30-year-old smiled broadly and embraced him before the pair walked together towards the Ajax dressing room.
The two players spoke to each other in French as they made their way through the stadium.
Bissouma joined Ajax in mid-September after his contract with Tottenham Hotspur expired this summer. He made his debut as a substitute away against FC Groningen.
However, because he signed for Ajax after the registration deadline for the Conference League, he may not feature in European competition for the Amsterdam club unless it reaches the next round.
