The 2026 season marks the end of Barça eSports’ League of Legends journey
The 2026 season marks the end of Barça eSports’ League of Legends journey

The 2026 season has been our final one competing in League of Legends, an adventure that began in December 2021 at an event attended by FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta i Estruch, where the Blaugrana team faced Movistar Riders in an exhibition match. That first roster, made up of Dreedy, Twohoyrz, Deadly, Lucky (who was later replaced by Efias), LeBron and coach Mapache, secured third place in both the Spring Split and the Iberian Cup, as well as qualifying for the 2022 Spring EMEA Masters.

In 2023, Deadly, Efias and Mapache remained with the team, while WhiteKnight, Hadess and Sajator joined the roster. The team qualified for the playoffs in both splits that season, but were eliminated in the first round on both occasions.

The 2024 season brought numerous changes, with Jandro and AoD joining as the new coaching staff, alongside Sajator, Pridestalkr and Hustlin as players. Following disappointing results in the first split, Pridestalkr and Hustlin were replaced by Thayger and Oscure. In the second split, Barça eSports were crowned regular-season champions and reached the grand final, where they fell to Team Heretics. The team also qualified for the Summer EMEA Masters, reaching the playoffs before being eliminated by Vitality.Bee in the first round. They also reached the Iberian Cup final, where Giants claimed the title.

LoL 2024

2025 was the best year in the club's history in League of Legends. With the additions of Czekolad and Whiteinn, followed later by 113, the team finished as runners-up in the first split, became Spanish champions for the first time in the Spring Split, and reached the final of the Spring EMEA Masters, the competition that brings together the best Tier 2 teams in Europe. The year concluded with a third-place finish at the Superliga Final Four and a first-round playoff elimination at the Summer EMEA Masters.

For the 2025 Iberian Cup, the roster underwent an almost complete overhaul, with the coaching staff and Legolas remaining, while Koldo, Selenex and Macaquiño joined the team. Oscure also returned to the club after previously playing for Barça in 2024. For the first time, the roster featured two Catalan players and three other Spanish players, reflecting the club's strong commitment to local talent. This strategy proved successful, and the entire roster was retained for the 2026 season.

During 2026, the team finished as runners-up in the LES Kick-off, placed fourth in the Spring Split, third in the Summer Split and fourth at the Final Four. The team qualified for both the Winter and Summer EMEA Masters, where they were eliminated in the group stage and the first round of the playoffs, respectively.
