Caitlin Clark has built a reputation for her exceptional playmaking and her ability to shoot from range and influence a game. Her reputation now reaches well beyond basketball, to the point that a six-time NBA All-Star says he would want her as a teammate.

Blake Griffin was recently asked during a quick-fire question-and-answer interview with FanDuel which WNBA player he would want as a teammate. Without a pause, he responded with: Caitlin Clark.

Interestingly, while he picked Clark as the player he would most want as a teammate, he named Olivia Miles as the WNBA player with the best handles and Kelsey Mitchell as the toughest matchup.

This is certainly not the first time Clark has been viewed as an ideal teammate by an NBA player. Kevin Durant, while explaining why Clark makes everyone around her better, pointed out that her gravity on the court is similar to Stephen Curry’s. According to that assessment, Clark draws so much defensive attention that she naturally forces defenses to react, creating wide-open opportunities for her teammates.

Former NBA star Isiah Thomas has also praised Clark’s passing ability, describing it as her elite, often overlooked weapon. While many expected her to make an impact primarily as a scorer, Thomas highlighted her ability to drop dimes as a key part of what makes her a complete offensive threat. He also defended her turnover numbers, explaining that they could reflect her teammates still adjusting to the speed and precision of her passes.

Several other NBA stars, including Luka Dončić and Trae Young, have also publicly expressed their admiration for Clark’s game. Considering the level of performance she displays on the court, it is safe to say all that praise is absolutely deserved.

Ever since entering the WNBA, Clark has continued to deliver one impressive performance after another, with each new season offering another glimpse of her development. The recently concluded 2026 season appears to have been her best individual campaign yet.

After a historic 2024 Rookie of the Year debut and an injury-plagued 2025 season that limited her to just 13 games, Clark returned fully healthy for the 2026 campaign. She did not simply pick up where she left off; she raised her game to another level.

Clark averaged a career-high 22.3 points per game, ranking third in the entire WNBA, a significant increase from the 19.2 points per game she recorded as a rookie. She also shot a career-best 44.5 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from beyond the three-point line.

Alongside her scoring, she continued to excel as a floor general. She averaged 8.3 assists per game and earned a place on the All-WNBA First Team for the second time in her career.

Clark’s individual brilliance was undeniable, as she finished fourth in the 2026 WNBA Most Valuable Player voting, right behind her elite backcourt teammate Kelsey Mitchell. She also won the Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year Award, further highlighting her return from an injury-disrupted 2025 season.

While the Fever ultimately suffered a tough first-round playoff exit against the Las Vegas Aces, Clark’s individual performance this season has shown just how much she continues to develop. Her 2026 campaign has further strengthened the case for her as one of the league’s most influential players, and her ceiling in the WNBA remains exceptionally high.
