THE KANSAS City Chiefs saw one of its stars ejected for throwing a punch at a Los Angeles Chargers player during Week 6.
Chiefs defensive back Christian Roland-Wallace was ejected from the team’s 22-6 win over the Chargers.
Wallace was thrown out of the game on Sunday for his outburst against Chargers offensive tackle Alex Harkey in the fourth quarter.
CBS’s broadcast cameras captured Wallace throwing a punch at Harkey when he was attempting to get up after a play.
The replay showed Wallace being pushed by safety Jayden Hick while throwing his left hook.
Before the punch, Harkey was spotted pushing Wallace into Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton at the end of the play after the whistle blew.
Wallace had enough and punched Harkey’s helmet, which resulted in him being removed from the game and receiving a 15-yard penalty for his action.
The third-year player out of USC could also face a suspension or fine for the decision.
NFL fans reacted to the outburst on social media.
“Unbelievably dumb,” one wrote on X.
“He’s stupid. I’ve never understood punching someone with their helmet on. It’s the best type of self own there is,” another commented.
“Dummy of the day,” a third added.
Wallace finished the game with four tackles.
The Chargers wouldn’t capitalize on the punch, as the team didn’t score any points in the fourth quarter.
