Barcelona reportedly open talks to sign Manchester City striker Erling Haaland

Barcelona have begun negotiations over a potential transfer for Manchester City forward Erling Haaland, according to El Nacional.

The Catalan club are reported to be monitoring Manchester City’s uncertain position and want to move ahead of Real Madrid in the race for the Norway international.

Haaland could become available for a relatively small fee if Manchester City receive a significant punishment in connection with their financial affairs, the report says.

Barcelona are also said to be considering a move for several other Manchester City players. Their list reportedly includes Josko Gvardiol, Rayan Cherki, Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden and Antoine Semenyo.

Haaland’s current estimated value is €220m, according to Transfermarkt.
