JOHANNESBURG - Kwagga Smith is closing in on a return to South Africa.

The Springbok loose forward has terminated his contract with Blue Revs by mutual consent.

The 33-year-old has been in Asia for eight years, having joined the Japanese outfit in 2018 when they were still known as Jubilo.

Smith is set to join the Bulls after coach Johan Ackermann confirmed last month that the Pretoria side was interested in him.

He made 78 appearances across all competitions, earning five selections in the League One Team of the Season.

Smith was also named League One Player of the Season in 2022/2023.
