Bahrain Premier League: Riffa Face Al Najma as Matchweek Seven Begins

Unbeaten leaders look to extend two-point advantage over Al Khaldiya, while Al Ettifaq face Malkiya

Riffa will look to extend their lead at the top of the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League when they face Al Najma at Khalifa Sports City Stadium on Friday night, as matchweek seven of the 2026-27 season gets underway.

The league leaders remain unbeaten after six matches, collecting 14 points to sit two clear of second-placed Al Khaldiya.

Two matches are scheduled for Friday night, with Al Ettifaq also facing Malkiya at Al Ahli Stadium. Both fixtures kick off at 6pm Bahrain time.

Mohamed Mashaan's side enter the match in good form, having come from behind to defeat Sitra 3-2 in their previous league outing before securing a 4-1 victory over Qatari opposition in the Gulf Club Champions League.

The Blues will be looking to build on those results as they seek to strengthen their position at the top of the standings.

Al Najma, meanwhile, sit ninth with seven points after suffering a 2-1 defeat to A'Ali in the previous round.

Al Ettifaq Face Bottom-Placed Malkiya

Elsewhere, third-placed Al Ettifaq will look to continue their impressive start to life in the top flight when they meet Malkiya at Al Ahli Stadium.

Faouzi Aaish's side have collected 11 points from six matches, having twice come from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against Al Khaldiya in their last league fixture.

Malkiya, managed by Alvaro Jose, remain without a victory this season.

However, they earned their second point of the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Al Ahli and will be hoping to build on that result.

Matchweek Seven Fixtures

The seventh round continues on Saturday with Manama facing unbeaten Al Khaldiya at Khalifa Sports City Stadium, while Al Ahli take on East Riffa at Bahrain National Stadium.

Sunday's closing fixtures will see defending champions Muharraq meet Sitra at Khalifa Sports City Stadium, while A'Ali face Hidd at Al Ahli Stadium.

All six matches kick off at 6pm Bahrain time.
