Level 2 of the Wisconsin high school football playoffs feature numerous big matchups Friday night. Here’s a look at some of the best, with predictions.

Waukesha West (6-4) at New Richmond (10-0), 7 p.m.

Of New Richmond’s 10 wins, nine have been decided by three-plus scores.

Our pick: New Richmond 35, Waukesha West 7

Brookfield Central (4-6) at River Falls (6-4), 7 p.m. at University of Wisconsin-River Falls

Brookfield Central’s record isn’t impressive, but it’s difficult to gauge it based on the lack of overlapping competition from the two teams on opposite sides of the state.

But Brookfield Central’s 42-41 upset of Beaver Dam last week suggests River Falls will have to score to win. The Wildcats’ playoff experience pays off in a tight one.

Our pick: River Falls 37, Brookfield Central 34

Hudson (9-1) at Verona (9-1), 7 p.m.

Division I playoffs get very serious, very fast. Every team remaining from here on out is excellent. But Hudson’s offense may be a touch more explosive.

Our pick: Hudson 30, Verona 24

Osceola (9-1) at Northwestern (10-0), 7 p.m.

Two excellent Division 4 teams who could make runs to Madison square off. Both have dominated much of their competition all year, but Osceola has played a few better teams and actually been tested this fall.

That could be the difference in a game with razor-thin margins.

Our pick: Osceola 17, Northwestern 16
