Super Amara Bera Bera plays Atlético Guardés in league match

Super Amara Bera Bera returns to competition by traveling to face Atlético Guardés at A Sangriña at 19:00 as head coach Jon Begiristain prepares his squad for a decisive stretch of domestic and continental fixtures.

The Atlético Guardés Test in Galicia

Bera Bera resumes league action following the international break by meeting an opponent looking to recover ground in the standings. Atlético Guardés recently dropped from the joint-lead following a draw against Beti Onak and a loss to Málaga, making Saturday’s encounter a challenging test for the visitors. Begiristain noted the defensive intensity and physical contact expected from the Galician side. The Guardés will pose a very difficult match for us, the coach said, pointing out their defensive work rate and strong transition play.

Balancing International Fatigue and Roster Adjustments

The autumn international window left Bera Bera with varying levels of match rhythm across the roster. Begiristain highlighted the contrast between players who remained in San Sebastián and those who traveled with their national teams. I’m super happy with the team I have, but with so many internationals, there are many teams that don’t have so many bajas these weeks and can work much better during these breaks, but the team is extremely motivated with what is coming now, Begiristain explained.

The squad also deals with physical setbacks. Long-term absentees Karsten and Somaza remain sidelined, and Alexandra Shunu returned from international duty with Angola carrying a back injury. However, the team welcomes back Elene Fresco, while Lisanne Kruijswijk is expected to contribute 10 to 15 minutes off the bench.

European Qualifiers Loom on the Horizon

A two-legged European qualification tie against Rocasa dominates Bera Bera’s upcoming schedule. The first leg takes place in Telde on Saturday, December 7, with the return leg scheduled at the Gasca on Sunday, December 15, at 18:00 local time (17:00 UTC). Securing a spot in the group stage has been a primary objective for the Bidebieta club since the start of the season.

To accommodate the continental playoff, league fixtures have been rearranged. Bera Bera hosts Granollers on Wednesday, December 4, travels to Oviedo on Tuesday, December 10, and concludes this critical block at home against La Rioja on December 18. We have two league matches before, and any slip-up can take away that first place, we cannot be confident, Begiristain warned.
