MC Alger seal CAF Champions League group-stage place with late Enugu Rangers comeback

MC Alger overturned a 2-0 first-leg deficit against Enugu Rangers to reach the CAF Champions League group stage with a 3-2 aggregate victory.

The Algerian side won 3-0 at the Ali-Ammar Stadium in Douera on Friday evening, completing a remarkable turnaround after their defeat in Nigeria.

MC Alger controlled much of the match but initially struggled to break down a well-organised Enugu Rangers defence. With the home crowd urging them forward, Patrice Beaumelle’s side continued to attack and scored twice to level the tie on aggregate.

That set up a tense finish, with the decisive goal arriving in the final moments of the match. The late strike secured qualification for MC Alger and sparked celebrations among their supporters.

The result places Mouloudia among Africa’s top 16 clubs and completes a memorable night for Algerian football.
