Sizoni Pamoja: Review of Match Day 6
SC Villa's Ibrahim Kasinde and Patrick Kakande celebrate against Police

On Thursday, 15 October 2026, Matchday 6 of the league season concluded with a double-header at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo. All nine scheduled fixtures were played, producing a combined tally of 22 goals.

In addition to the nine Matchday 6 encounters, the rescheduled Matchday 3 fixture between Kataka and Vipers was also played in the same period. The match had initially been postponed due to Vipers’ continental engagements. Vipers made a commanding statement, cruising to a comfortable 5–0 victory, with Usama Arafat netting a hat-trick while Milton Karisa and Farouk Miya contributed a goal apiece.

With Matchday 6 wrapped up and all nine fixtures accounted for, attention now turns to the key talking points that emerged from the round.

Dominance on the Road

Matchday 6 recorded six matches that produced outright winners, with away sides dominating proceedings by claiming five victories, while only one home team managed to secure maximum points.

Kitara set the pace for the away-side dominance with a 2–1 victory over Kataka. Jimmy Kalema and Chris Asiki found the net for the visitors, while Latif Ssenkubuge scored Kataka’s consolation. The result extended Kitara’s unbeaten run and lifted them to eighth place, with two games in hand. Kataka, meanwhile, remained 17th, just one position above the foot of the table.

At Kira Road Police Arena, KCCA continued their resurgence, registering a third consecutive victory with a 2–0 triumph over Ntugasaze. Herbert Achayi and Emmanuel Anyama scored the goals that secured maximum points for the Kasasiro Boys.

A day later, the same venue witnessed SC Villa deliver the round’s most emphatic performance, dismantling Police 6–1 in a dominant display. Frank Ssebuufu struck twice, while John Asiimwe, Patrick Kakande, Ibrahim Kasinde and teenage forward Sausa Jonathan each got on the scoresheet. Bedia Ikamba scored Police’s lone consolation in a one-sided encounter that underlined the Jogoos’ attacking prowess. Beyond the convincing scoreline, the victory propelled SC Villa to the summit of the table, leapfrogging NEC and BUL, who have a game in hand.

In Kamwenge, Kigezi HomeBoyz endured another difficult outing under their new stewardship, suffering a 2–0 home defeat to NEC. Allan Mugalu and debutant Marvin Oshaba scored for the visitors, handing Kigezi yet another setback as they continue to search for a turnaround.

At Nakivubo, UPDF stunned Express with a 2–1 victory, courtesy of a first-half double from Derrick Taremwa, with both goals arriving inside the opening 10 minutes. Henry Wamala pulled one back for Express, but it proved insufficient to salvage a point. The result marked UPDF’s second victory of the season, while pressure continued to mount on Express, who slipped to just one position above the relegation zone.

Mbarara City finally off the mark

The Ankole Lions finally got off the mark with their first victory of the season, edging Blacks Power 2–1. Erick Tumwine and Rogers Mugisha found the net for Mbarara City, while Innocent Maduka scored the visitors’ consolation goal.

The result was the only home victory across Matchday 6 and marked a significant breakthrough for Mbarara City. Beyond securing their maiden win, the Ankole Lions also registered their first goals of the campaign, ending a frustrating four-match run without finding the net.

For Blacks Power, the defeat extended their losing streak to three consecutive matches, further compounding their current struggles. In contrast, the vital three points lifted Mbarara City out of the relegation zone, offering a much-needed boost to their campaign.

Vipers’ slips, Bul’s Perfect run ended, URA under pressure

Vipers’ winning run came to a halt after they were held to a 1–1 draw at home by Maroons. Kevin Dasylva restored parity for the hosts after Dickson Niwamanya had given the visitors an earlier lead. The stalemate initially left Vipers in 9th position before they later climbed to 5th following the completion of their rescheduled Match Day 3 fixture during the same period.

Meanwhile, BUL’s perfect start to the season also came to an end after they were held to a goalless draw by Lugazi FC at Lugazi Stadium. The result not only brought BUL’s winning streak to a halt but also cost them their place at the summit of the table, dropping them to 3rd position.

While the draws brought an end to winning runs for Vipers and BUL, the situation is becoming increasingly concerning for URA, whose struggles continued with a goalless stalemate against UPPC on Match Day 6. Having suffered three consecutive defeats, the Tax Collectors at least managed to halt their losing streak, but the point offered little relief in their fight to climb the table. Instead, URA slipped into the relegation zone with just four points, albeit with a game in hand.
