Austin Creed may be planning a new gaming project after leaving WWE’s UpUpDownDown behind when he joined AEW.
The former Xavier Woods was the face of WWE’s popular YouTube gaming channel, which grew to more than 2.40 million subscribers under his leadership. However, WWE still owns the UpUpDownDown brand. Creed may now be looking to start something new, and his latest comments suggest that a successor could already be in the works.
Speaking with Phid McAwesome at PAX Australia, Creed discussed leaving the gaming channel behind and hinted at the possibility of working with his former Da Party teammates again.
Creed spent years building UpUpDownDown into a popular channel for wrestling fans. It gave them a chance to see their favorite WWE superstars outside the ring. The channel featured wrestlers playing video games, taking part in challenges, and showing their personalities away from their regular TV appearances.
However, Creed’s departure from WWE in May meant he had to leave the project behind. Despite losing access to the channel, the AEW star seems confident that he can create something new. When asked about how it felt leaving UpUpDownDown, Creed said,
“It’s fine. Because I believe in myself creatively enough that if I want to, I just build something else.”
One big question is whether Creed could reunite with Da Party for another gaming project. The group includes Creed, Tyler Breeze, Adam Cole, and Claudio Castagnoli. All four share a love for video games, and their chemistry made their gaming sessions popular with wrestling fans.
Cole, Castagnoli, and Creed are now signed to AEW, while Breeze is a free agent. Since none of the four are currently under WWE contract, working together on a new project may be easier than it was when they were part of WWE.
Creed addressed the possibility but also admitted he wouldn’t confirm any plans.
“None of the Da Party members are currently signed with WWE. And that would lead me to believe that there is at least the chance that something will happen. The chance of something to be created is available. I will not confirm or deny if anyone has been filming anything or if anyone has been creating assets for a new YouTube channel. I will not confirm or deny that,” Creed said.
Creed then explained that his friendships with WWE Superstars helped make UpUpDownDown successful. He wants to build similar connections with the AEW locker room before starting a similar project.
“I would hope that maybe there would be a chance to do something with video games, I don’t know. I cannot say. But that rapport with the locker room is first and foremost the most important thing,” Creed said.
