Real Madrid Forward, Kylian Mbappe Scores a Brace vs Barcelona

Mbappé was the hero of the night at Camp Nou, scoring twice to secure a memorable 2-1 victory for Real Madrid.

The French forward opened the scoring in the 41st minute after Barcelona defender Gerard Martín's attempted clearance struck him and rebounded into the net.

Mbappé reacted quickly to the fortunate opportunity and finished past goalkeeper Joan García.

Barcelona responded in the second half when Raphinha found the equaliser, delivering a tense finish to the encounter.

However, Madrid delivered the decisive blow in the 87th minute through a swift counterattack.

Substitute Eduardo Camavinga supplied the assist, allowing Mbappé to finish into an empty net and complete his brace.

The late strike was particularly significant as it brought Mbappé's Real Madrid goal tally to 100, placing him among an elite group of players to reach the milestone for the club.

He became the 24th player to score 100 goals for Madrid and the fourth-fastest to achieve the feat, joining legendary figures such as Alfredo Di Stéfano, Raúl and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo remains the club's leading goalscorer, having scored 450 goals in 438 appearances.

Mbappé's milestone capped a memorable afternoon for the Frenchman, whose goals not only secured bragging rights over Barcelona but also strengthened Madrid's position in the title race.

‘The Star of the Game Was the Team’ — Mbappé

After reaching the 100-goal milestone and scoring the winning goal, Mbappé declared that the collective performance mattered more than his individual achievement.

The forward praised his teammates for their commitment and acknowledged that Madrid had to overcome difficult moments before securing the victory.

"The star of the game was the team, the group. We knew it had to be a team game," Mbappé said after the game.
"Today we gave everything we had."
"We had difficult moments in the game, and moments where we dominated. Winning and being in the title race is important."
"We have to keep going. It's a great game but it's only three points."

Mbappé also emphasized that Madrid's success this season would depend on the squad working together rather than relying solely on individual brilliance.

"Everyone knows I like to score goals, to help the team, but today, the most important thing was the team's win," he added.
"If we want to do things this year, we have to be a group. The quality is here."
"With the players here, anyone who says the quality isn't here is a liar, but we have to work as a team, that's how we'll achieve the things we want to."

Kylian Mbappe is determined to translate his individual achievements into team success after Madrid missed out on the LaLiga title in both the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.

Despite finishing as LaLiga's top scorer in both of his full seasons at the club, Mbappé is still chasing his first major trophy with Real Madrid.
