The Golden State Warriors lost 108-111 to the Memphis Grizzlies on October 24. During the game, the Warriors’ veteran Draymond Green and rookie Yaxel Lendeborg got into a heated scuffle with Grizzlies big man Zach Edey.
A new video has surfaced on social media that reveals details not seen before about what led to the scuffle and the eventual double technical fouls.
With nine minutes left in the third quarter, a fight broke out on the Grizzlies’ scoring end after Ty Jerome drew a foul on Graham Ike, and Green put his hands on the point guard after Ike got in his face.
“That’s a f–king foul though,” Ike shouted seconds before Green and Edey started a scuffle. Edey took exception to Green’s actions, pushed him away, and Green accidentally poked him in the eye.
“Don’t do that,” Green said before Yaxel Lendeborg intervened.
“Watch out,” Lendeborg repeatedly said to Edey. “Watch the f–k out.”
“Don’t touch my point guard, don’t touch my point guard, man. What the f–k are you gonna do?” Edey said to Graham Ike, who was pushing him and Jerome away from Green.
Green did not hold back after other teammates, officials, and staff members intervened to pull them apart. He kept going at Edey verbally.
“Shut up, pu–y,” he repeatedly said to Edey.
While Green was being held back, Lendeborg and Ike continued their heated trash talk on the court.
“We’re not going for that s–t! You’re not like that,” Ike said.
“You’re just tall, n—a! You’ve got no hands. On my momma, you got no hands,” Lendeborg apparently said.
What Yaxel Lendeborg Really Said To Zach Edey👀:
“You’re just tall, n****! On my momma, you got no hands”
This came after a scuffle with Draymond:
Edey: “Don’t touch my point guard… what the f*ck are you gonna do?”
Green: “Shut up, pu**y”
Ike: “We’re not going for that sh*t! You’re not like that”

Officials assessed double technical fouls on Ty Jerome and Yaxel Lendeborg. NBA fans saw the video on social media and flooded it with reactions about how veteran Draymond Green is a questionable influence on rookie Yaxel Lendeborg.
Recently, he even encouraged Lendeborg to trash-talk Luka Doncic, even though he knew the pressure that comes with poking the bear, especially this early in Lendeborg’s career.
I believe that every coin has two sides. While Green might be a questionable influence on Lendeborg, he has also shown signs of encouraging him to attack the basket, which has helped him elevate his game, even if it’s only five games into the season.
Yaxel Lendeborg finished the night with 18 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and three steals on 36.4% shooting from the field (4-for-11) and 33.3% shooting from beyond the arc (1-for-3). Draymond Green added five points, five rebounds, six assists, and one block on 50% shooting (2-for-4).
Zach Edey finished with eight points, 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal, and two blocks on 4-for-6 shooting (66.7% FG).
Ultimately, Draymond Green’s influence on Yaxel Lendeborg could prove to be a double-edged sword. His competitive edge and willingness to challenge his opponents may help the rookie find his voice in the NBA.
However, a fine line separates playing with an edge from letting emotions take over. How Lendeborg navigates that balance could shape his development with the Warriors.
The Warriors head home to face Luka Doncic and the Lakers in their next game on Friday, October 30. As an NBA Cup game, it will be interesting to see whether Lendeborg pokes the bear with Luka Doncic again.
