CAF Champions League: Esperance Tunis held by Al-Swehly at half-time

Al-Swehly SC and Esperance sportive de Tunis were level at 0-0 at half-time on Sunday, 18 October, in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League 2026-2027 at the Misrata stadium in Libya.

The match marks Esperance’s first appearance in this season’s competition, but the Tunisian side has yet to break down a determined Al-Swehly defence. The Libyan club is seeking to make full use of home advantage and keep its hopes alive before the return leg.

Esperance have tried to impose control and move closer to the hosts’ goal during the opening 45 minutes, although they have not been able to turn that pressure into a clear breakthrough. Al-Swehly, meanwhile, have looked to make the visitors uncomfortable while protecting the scoreline.

With the match still goalless, the tie remains open ahead of the second half. Esperance will need to find more attacking solutions if they are to leave Libya with a positive result before the second leg, which is scheduled for 24 October at the Rades stadium.
