UEFA has assigned Spanish referee Ricardo de Burgos to officiate Fenerbahçe’s upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Czech side Slavia Prague, Fotomaç reported. The fixture is scheduled for Tuesday at 19:45 local time.
Sözcü Gazetesi reported that Ricardo de Burgos will be joined on the pitch by assistant referees Iker De Francisco and Ivan Masso Granado, both representing the same federation. Adrian Cordero has been appointed as the fourth official for the fixture. Meanwhile, Guillermo Cuadra Fernandez will oversee the Video Assistant Referee booth, supported by assistant VAR Javier Iglesias Villanueva.
The appointment arrives immediately following domestic league duties in Spain. Sözcü Gazetesi noted that De Burgos officiated La Liga action where Barcelona defeated Real Betis 5-2, a match that featured a direct red card issued to Real Betis player Facundo Bernal in the 54th minute following an altercation with Lamine Yamal.
Born in Bilbao, Spain, on March 16, 1986, Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea began his professional refereeing career in lower divisions before joining the La Liga roster in 2015, according to Cumhuriyet. He earned a place on the FIFA international referees list in 2018. His high-profile assignments include multiple El Clásico fixtures between Barcelona and Real Madrid, the 2017 Spanish Super Cup—where he sent off Cristiano Ronaldo—and the 2025 Copa del Rey final.
Ahead of the fixture, comments from former player Tomas Necid, reported via İhlas Haber Ajansı, singled out specific offensive threats for the Czech club, pointing to Muriqi and Greenwood as primary concerns for Slavia Prague.
