Ireland's Willie O'Connor made an impressive run to the semi-finals at Players Championship 32 but it was England's Chris Dobey who went all the way to victory in Den Bosch, Netherlands on Thursday.
Dobey beat Tommy Morris 8-4 to wrap up his third ranking title of the season.
Matches between Tom Sykes and Cor Dekker, Bradley Brooks and Adam Gawlas, and Wesley Plaisier and Damon Heta all produced nine-dart finishes in Den Bosch.
Dobey averaged 103.15 across his seven matches, registering the three highest averages of the afternoon on his way to the win.
Meanwhile, Limerick native O'Connor posted 100-plus averages to first beat Martin Schindler 6-4 and then Niels Zonneveld 6-5 in the last-16.
His quarter-final victory over Karel Sedlacek by the same score also saw him convert an excellent 148 finish.
But a 7-4 defeat to Dobey in the last-four prevented the 40-year-old from advancing to the decider.
