Mercedes used crew members who had not performed a live Formula 1 pit stop for 15 years after injuries forced personnel changes at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Deputy team principal Bradley Lord revealed the reshuffle on the team's Nu Silver Arrows Radio Show. He said Mercedes still delivered the quickest stops for a second consecutive weekend.

Some replacements hadn't done a live pitstop for 15 years, Lord said.

The distinction matters: the pit-lane measure includes the journey through the lane, rather than simply the stationary tire change. Lord's broader point was that the garage maintained its execution despite an exhausting Azerbaijan, Malaysia and Singapore triple-header.

Heat, humidity and time away from home placed further demands on personnel as Mercedes tried to protect its championship position.

Lord praised the resilience of the team but stressed that both cars still needed to finish as high as possible. Even a healthy advantage, he warned, did not mean the job was finished.
