Ghana’s Black Maidens have held their first training session in Rabat as they intensify preparations for their opening Group C match against Norway at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The session marked the team’s transition into the final phase of preparations after moving to the Moroccan capital from their pre-tournament base in Casablanca.
The team spent two weeks in Casablanca, where the technical team assessed the players’ readiness through international friendly matches against China and Kenya.
The Maidens have now shifted their focus to tactical preparation and match fitness at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.
Head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa put the players through their paces, with the technical team concentrating on tactical drills and set-piece routines ahead of Sunday’s opening encounter.
The session also provided an opportunity for the players to acclimatise to the conditions in Rabat ahead of the tournament opener.
The clash against Norway will be crucial to Ghana’s campaign, with a positive result expected to boost the team’s confidence ahead of their second group match against Brazil on Thursday, October 22.
The Black Maidens will conclude their Group C campaign against Canada on Saturday, October 24.
With their first training session in Rabat completed, the team will continue preparations in the coming days as the technical team fine-tunes its tactics and determines the starting line-up for the Norway encounter.
