Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz has been facing the heat after an underwhelming start. According to Motaung, the Frenchman is a top level and hard working coach that requires time.

Speaking on Marawa Sports Worldwide, Motaung expressed satisfaction with the coach’s work, praising his authority in the dressing room, tactical preparation and professionalism.

“I’m happy,” said Motaung.

KAIZER CHIEFS BOSS LAUDS FERNANDO DA CRUZ’S PROFESSIONALISM

Motaung made it clear that Amakhosi have confidence in their coach’s leadership, insisting that the dressing room is under control.

“My coach owns the change room, controls the change room. If you hear how people are fired in other clubs or whatever, we’re not in a circus game…”

Motuang also pointed to the team’s tactical structure and preparation as evidence of the quality within the technical setup.

“And look at the structure of the team, look at how he prepares the team, look at technical aspects of the team, it’s high level. But the only thing is patience and time, doesn’t happen overnight like I say, there’s injuries that happened.

Since arriving at Amakhosi, Da Cruz remains unbeaten in eight Betway Premiership league games, though these include three wins and five draws. His side crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary qualifiers.

His defensive setup, performances and team selections have been slammed by fans, pundits and club legends.

“What I think without dwelling into it, this is a high level coach that we’ve got, technical staff professional, high level,” Motaung continued in his defence.

‘THESE COACHES LEAVE AT 5 O’CLOCK, 6 O’CLOCK’

Motaung also highlighted the hours the technical staff put into their work at the club’s training facilities, contrasting their commitment with what he described as the working habits of some local coaches.

“I can tell you about local coaches who come in at 9 o’clock, 11 o’clock at the village. We’ve got a facility there that’s got Sports Science, it’s got everything. These coaches leave at 5 o’clock, 6 o’clock, working on that, planning and looking at everything.”

His comments underline the club’s emphasis on preparation, tactical analysis and the use of its training infrastructure.
