The Asisa Joventut and Barça Basket face off this Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the Palau Municipal d’Esports in Badalona, marking a key showdown in the fourth round of the Liga Endesa 2026-27 season. The game is scheduled for 19:00 local time (CEST) and will be broadcast live via DAZN.

Barça’s Road to Recovery After European Heartbreak

Barça enters the matchup at the Palau Olímpic looking to maintain momentum in the domestic league following a difficult week in the Euroleague. Aleksander Sekulic’s squad is coming off a 100-105 overtime loss against Olympiacos, a game that challenged the team’s depth and rotation. Despite that setback, the team has shown resilience in the Liga Endesa, currently holding a 2-1 record and sitting in sixth place. Their recent 89-86 victory over Valencia Basket served as a vital confidence boost after a league loss to UCAM Murcia earlier this month.

Joventut Seeks Home Advantage Following Supercopa Success

The hosts, Asisa Joventut, arrive at this derby with the psychological edge of having already defeated their rivals this season. The Badalona side secured the Supercopa Endesa title by beating Barça in the final, a result they hope to replicate in front of their home crowd. While their start to the Liga Endesa campaign has been challenging—with a current standing of twelfth place and a 1-2 record—the team recently earned their first league win against MoraBanc Andorra. That fixture had been previously postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

Tactical Outlook and Roster Management

The primary concern for Barça heading into this weekend is physical fatigue. After a demanding week in the Palau Blaugrana that included a 90-87 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv followed by the draining overtime loss to Olympiacos, Sekulic may rely heavily on his bench to manage player load. The Barça roster will need to show significant depth to counter the intensity of a Joventut team that is eager to improve its league position. For the home side, the focus remains on controlling the tempo of the game to disrupt Barça’s rhythm, utilizing the familiarity of their home court.
