Coolmore's TDN Rising Star Wall Street Goes Two-For-Two In The Eyrefield
Sea The Stars | Aga Khan Studs

By Sean Cronin

Coolmore's Wall Street (Sea The Stars) annexed his debut over one mile at Leopardstown with a TDN Rising Star display in August and returned to the Foxrock venue to notch a black-type breakthrough, and a record-extending 15th renewal for Aidan O'Brien, in Saturday's G3 Mongey Communications Eyrefield Stakes.

The Tattersalls December Foals millionaire recovered from an indifferent getaway to race under a firm hold in a handy fourth through the initial fractions of a contest won last year by Derby hero Christmas Day (Camelot).

Nudged along briefly passing the three-furlong pole, the 4-7 favourite arrived on the front end full of run with a quarter-mile remaining and was ridden out in the closing stages to hold the late bid of Zarak Pasha (Zarak) by an ultimately comfortable half-length margin.

The runner-up finished 6 1/2 lengths clear of Leadlight (Saxon Warrior) in third.

Pedigree Notes
Wall Street becomes the 91st Group winner for his sire and is the first foal out of a half-sister to the multiple Group 1-placed G2 Solonaway victrix I Can Fly (Fastnet Rock), the dual Group 3-placed Viscount Barfield (Raven's Pass) and the dam of GIII Long Island winner Alluring Angel (Fastnet Rock).

I Can Fly produced the Listed-winning G1 Fillies' Mile, G1 Prix Rothschild and G1 Falmouth runner-up January (Kingman).

Wall Street's second dam Madonna Dell'orto (Montjeu) is kin to G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains and GI Keeneland Turf Mile-winning sire Landseer (Danehill) and to the dam of G1 Nassau third Moneycantbuymelove (Pivotal), with the latter being the dam of G1 Takarazuka Kinen-winning sire Mikki Rocket (King Kamehameha).

From the immediate family of storied champion Triptych (Riverman), the winner is kin to a yearling filly by Study Of Man, who was a 180,000gns Tattersalls December foal last year.
