Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT |  Kampala’s combat sports landscape is set for a massive shakeup tonight as Club Obligato hosts the highly anticipated “Battle for Glory ONE” fight night.

Organized by Union Boxing Promotions, the sports promotion wing operating under the umbrella of Union (Union Transport Alliance), the event marks a bold expansion into professional combat sports.

The corporate venture into professional boxing aims to provide a sustainable platform for local youth, utilizing the extensive reach of the transport network to uplift athletic livelihoods.

Fred Ssenoga, the Chief Executive Officer of Union Transport, recently emphasized that the company chose boxing because the sport’s rigorous core values of discipline, determination, and hard work perfectly mirror the resilience required by everyday Ugandan workers.

“UNION has joined the boxing programme to support and promote boxing in Uganda,” Ssenoga stated. “We are committed to supporting boxing executives, developing the sport, and nurturing the next generation of Ugandan boxing talent.”

Tonight’s card is headlined by a thrilling Super Featherweight main event featuring a six-round showdown between Shakur “Top Boy” Mugambe and Ivan Kisakye. Both fighters have engaged in fierce pre-fight psychological warfare.

Mugambe, making a highly anticipated return after a lengthy hiatus, has confidently predicted an early stoppage, vowing to drop Kisakye by the second round. Kisakye, however, remains completely unfazed, dismissing the boastful predictions and promising his fans a masterclass performance to secure the victory.

Beyond the main event, the night features a stacked 19-bout fight card sanctioned under the strict athletic guidelines of the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF). Regulatory partners like the UBF’s Asadu Musisi Ssentongo have committed to collaborating closely with Union to maintain high professional standards and create community opportunities. The international flavor of the night is anchored by an 8-round featherweight clash between Croatia’s Arijan Goricki and Tanzania’s Milonzi.

To maximize spectator value, organizers have woven live musical entertainment and community engagement directly into the sports program. Tickets can be purchased digitally via Airtel Merchant channels.

To help fans beat Kampala’s traffic jam and navigate safely to the venue tonight, the promotion has integrated its ride-hailing services, offering a special discounted rate on the Union Let’s Go App.

For Ugandan boxing enthusiasts, Club Obligato is the place to be tonight.
