CHARLIE WOODS sunk a 40ft putt to fire Benjamin High School to victory in the District Championship this week.
The Buccaneers won the Class 1A-District 14 title with a team score of 290 at Champions Club at Summerfield in Stuart, Florida.
Woods himself scored a 2-under 69 to win the individual title, beating team-mate Brooks Colton by one shot.
Benjamin coach Toby Harbeck said: “We got two good rounds out of Charlie and Brooks.
“Charlie made a 40-foot putt on the last hole to win the individual title. Charlie shot a 69 and Brooks shot a 70.
“That’s what you want out of your No1 and No2.
“It played really hard, long, and windy and rainy. It was everything. So, I’m very pleased.
“You’re trying to move on each week and get to the finals, so that’s what we did. We’ve got to keep going forward.”
Charlie is the son of golf legend Tiger Woods and has been tipped to follow in his dad’s footsteps by turning professional.
He recently signed his first NIL (name, image, and likeness) deal with TaylorMade.

David Abeles, CEO and president of the sports equipment company, said: “We build our roster of athletes around those who are driven by the game of golf and have an unmatched desire to compete at the highest level.
“Charlie epitomizes that every time he tees it up. The growth of his game over the last few years speaks for itself and we are humbled he chose TaylorMade to support him as he competes at the junior level and during his transition to collegiate golf.”
The 17-year-old now plays with a TaylorMade driver, along with fairway woods, irons, wedges, and golf balls.
