While Venda Football Academy remain in search of their first win in the 2026/27 Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign, Cape Town City will look to extend their winning streak at the top end of the table this weekend.
Sitting at the bottom of the log currently, Venda Football Academy has earned just one point from their first seven Motsepe Foundation Championship matches this season.
Their slow start to the campaign also includes six consecutive losses heading into this weekend’s action as they prepare to battle Hungry Lions on Saturday.
As another team fighting relegation this season, The Bees are scheduled to take on Hope FC away on Saturday.
The Bees go into their next league assignment in 15th place after taking home just three points from seven ties so far.
In addition to their troubles, The Bees recorded four losses in their last five matches, with their only win of the campaign being a 1-0 victory against Lerumo Lions on 19 September.
Elsewhere, Cape Town City could extend their unbeaten streak to six matches when they face Orbit College on Friday evening.
The Citizens also recorded consecutive wins over The Bees and Gomora United last time out, ending matchday seven on 14 points after seven games.
Also, log leaders Magesi will look to maintain their two point advantage over second-placed Real Native when they face Gomora at home on Saturday afternoon.
Magesi recorded three wins and two draws in their last handful of league ties, gathering 17 points from the campaign, with their latest result being a 3-1 away win against Venda Football Academy on 17 October.
Another team looking to stitch consecutive wins together is Upington City, who will be away at Midlands Wanderers on Friday.
Fifth-placed Upington City took home maximum points in a 2-0 win against Orbit College in their most recent outing, moving onto 11 points for the season.
Midlands Wanderers on the other hand, hope to overcome their inconsistent spell of results that saw them record one win, two draws and two losses in their last five games, placing them in 11th position.
