Ipswich Town goalkeeper Christian Walton says Manchester City away is a fixture he has "looked forward to" every season the club has been in the Premier League - and he is ready to do battle if the "outstanding" Erling Haaland plays this weekend.
The 30-year-old, who initially joined the club on loan in August 2021, has managed to keep his starting position this season despite Gary O'Neil bringing in two new goalkeepers in the summer transfer window.
"Manchester City away is a good test for us all and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to play against them," Walton told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"Erling Haaland is obviously an outstanding striker. There were a few questions around whether he could do it in the Premier League at the start, but he has done it year on year now and blown that out of the water.
"He is able to score every type of goal really, and I think that separates him from other strikers out there.
"It isn't just him I need to look out for, though. There are a number of other players that have good quality in their squad, as with every other Premier League team."
On the noise surrounding Manchester City, who were recently found guilty of breaching the Premier League's financial rules, Walton added: "It doesn't make a difference to our game and it isn't going to make a difference to their game.
"We go there full of belief. They will be coming up against a good Ipswich team, with the full squad raring to go. Whoever is selected will be ready to put on a performance and do their job."
