After seven years of hard work, resilience, and unwavering belief, Ace Auto Ayoba Academy,, based in Kwa-Thema, has finally made history by finishing in the top three.

The academy has been crowned the 2026 overall champions of the SAFA Ekurhuleni Development League Stream B, earning automatic promotion to Stream A for the 2027 season.

Competing across three age-group divisions, the academy’s founder, Innocent Mayoyo, said the academy showed exceptional consistency at all levels: U13 finished second, U15 finished first as champions, and U17 finished third.

This combined performance made them the overall winners of Stream B with 124 points.

“This journey of wanting this league started seven years ago, but the club’s existence started in 2008 with just a dream and a ball on the dusty fields of Kwa-Thema.

“We had no sponsors, no facilities, just passion for our children. Through hard work, resilience and community support, today that dream is a reality,” said Mayoyo.

Mayoyo indicated that the academy, sponsored by Ace Auto Scrapyard, has been a pillar in Kwa-Thema, keeping youth off the streets and developing future stars.

This promotion to Stream A will see them compete against the best academies in Ekurhuleni next season. The founder thanked SAFA Ekurhuleni, the coaches, parents, players, sponsor Ace Auto, and the entire Kwa-Thema community for their support over the past seven years.
