Kelvin Ahiable’s late strike rescues point for Dreams FC against Port City

Dreams FC scored deep into stoppage time to secure a crucial point against Port City in a dramatic 1-1 draw at the Daasebre Boamah Darko II Park on Sunday.

The two sides played out a balanced opening half, with both teams creating opportunities but failing to find the breakthrough before the interval.

Dreams FC coach Winfred Dormon was forced into an early adjustment after Rahman Osman picked up an injury, leading to Ransford Sarkodie being introduced as his replacement.

The visitors came close to taking the lead in the 20th minute, but their effort was ruled out for offside, keeping the game goalless at halftime.

Port City returned from the break with greater attacking intent and eventually broke the deadlock just two minutes into the second half. Right-back Samuel Aryee Baadu produced a moment of brilliance, firing a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area to put the hosts ahead.

The home side looked on course to secure all three points as they defended their advantage deep into the game. However, Dreams FC refused to give up and were rewarded in stoppage time when Kelvin Ahiable found the back of the net to level the contest.

The late equaliser gives Dreams FC a much-needed confidence boost as they continue their fight for survival, although they remain at the bottom of the Ghana Premier League table.

Port City will be frustrated after conceding so late and missing the opportunity to claim maximum points. They will now turn their attention to their next fixture away against Karela United, while Dreams FC prepare to host Vision FC.
