Jamie Vardy scored his first goal for Burnley but the veteran forward was unable to prevent his new club from suffering their fifth league defeat of the season against Wolves.
Vardy started up front for the Clarets in a battle between two sides who were relegated from the Premier League last season.
The 39-year-old opened his account for his new club in typical fashion, as he raced onto a through ball from Jacob Bruun Larsen and slotted past Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Vardy's strike ensured he has scored in 20 consecutive seasons in his career, which spans from his time in the non-league's Northern Premier League through his rise to Premier League glory with Leicester, and his season in Serie A last term.
The forward joined Burnley last month having been a free agent since leaving Italian side Cremonese in the summer following their relegation to Serie B.
Vardy, who moved to Italy with his wife Rebekah and their family, scored seven goals and provided three assists in 29 appearances in Serie A last season.
Vardy's first goal for his new club gave Burnley a 1-0 lead in their Championship clash with Wolves.
The Clarets were unable to hold onto their lead with Kyle Walker at fault for Wolves' equaliser.
Walker was dispossessed by Sean Neave, who crossed for Fer Lopez to slot the visitors level with a near post finish.
Another defensive error led to Wolves' winning goal with Burnley's Igor Julio's errant touch presenting Mateus Mane with the ball.
Mane fed substitute Tawanda Chirewa, who had been on the pitch for 21 seconds, shooting through Burnley goalkeeper Gregoire Coudert.
The result increased pressure on Burnley head coach Nicky Hayen, with the Clarets just outside the relegation zone after winning one, drawing five and losing five of their 11 Championship matches to date.
Defeat also meant Burnley have gone over a year since winning a league match at home.
Wolves' fifth victory of the campaign lifted them into sixth place.
