Tottenham injury update: Omar Marmoush, Destiny Udogie, Pedro Porro latest news and return dates
'I kissed Rodrigo and said thanks' – De Zerbi says Bentancur headbutt sparked Spurs response

Tottenham picked up four new injury concerns as they beat Coventry on Monday night, dampening the effects of a result which hoisted them out of the relegation zone.

Andy Robertson, Tosin Adarabioyo and Omar Marmoush were all forced off with problems in the second half, while Destiny Udogie was left out of the matchday squad altogether with a surprise knee injury.

There was some better news, though, as James Maddison started and Dejan Kulusevski appeared for the first time in a year and a half.

But with a titanic London derby against Chelsea looming at the weekend, Roberto De Zerbi will be sweating over the fitness of some key members of his squad.

Here is all the latest Tottenham injury news and potential return dates...

Omar Marmoush

Omar Marmoush was on target for Tottenham in the second half against Coventry, scoring a fine goal to take the score to 2-1, but later pulled up and needed to be replaced.

He went down holding his calf and received treatment before being taken off and replaced by Mathys Tel.

De Zerbi, though, was quick to play down his issue at full-time.

“No, no, no, I think there are no injuries, nothing important,” he said.

The Egyptian striker should be in contention to face Chelsea and could take the place of the misfiring Dominic Solanke.

Potential return date: October 24 vs Chelsea (A)

Destiny Udogie

Destiny Udogie was a surprise absentee when De Zerbi named his team to face Coventry.

Speaking ahead of kick-off, he told Sky Sports the player had suffered a knee injury in last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Manchester United, but suggested it was only a minor injury.

He said: "Destiny Udogie played 70 minutes and he suffered a problem in his knee and we didn't take a risk."

He will hope to be back in time to face Chelsea on Saturday.

Pedro Porro

The full-back Pedro Porro is closing in on a comeback after suffering a hamstring injury ahead of the international break.

He picked up the injury early on in the 3-2 loss to Aston Villa last month and was initially tipped to miss four weeks.

Offering an update on his condition last week, De Zerbi said: “Pedro - I think - is not [out] for many games.”

And Porro himself seems to have promised a comeback. He posted a video of himself rehabbing at Hotspur Way to his Instagram page this week, captioned “almost back.”

He will hope to be involved for the trip to Chelsea.

Savio

The summer signing Savio has made an impressive start to his Tottenham career but was unfortunate to suffer an injury after the draw at Manchester United.

De Zerbi explained: “Unfortunately, Savio, on Tuesday before leaving for Marbella, felt a muscular problem and we have lost him for some weeks.”

The precise nature or severity of the Brazilian’s injury is not absolutely clear, but he will now be pushing to return before the November international break.

Potential return date: November 7 vs Leeds (A)

Andy Robertson

After starting against Coventry, Andy Robertson pulled up with a problem in the second half.

He played through it for about five minutes as he waited for a break in play, but ultimately went down and was forced off.

Speaking at full time, though, De Zerbi seemed confident he had not suffered a serious injury.

He said: “No, no, no, I think there are no injuries, nothing important.”

Tosin Adarabioyo

Tottenham’s fitness worries were doubled when Tosin Adarabioyo, making his first Premier League start, went down for treatment at the exact same time as Robertson against Coventry.

He appeared to have suffered a calf problem and appeared upset as he hobbled off the pitch.

But, as with Robertson, De Zerbi seemed confident he had not suffered a serious injury.

He said: “No, no, no, I think there are no injuries, nothing important.”

He may well be fit to face his former club this weekend.

Potential return date: October 24 vs Chelsea (A)

Lucas Bergvall

Lucas Bergvall was another casualty at Old Trafford, with De Zerbi confirming he picked up an injury in attempting to set up a chance for Dominic Solanke.

The Swede has been a regular feature for Spurs this season, and his absence is a considerable blow for Spurs.

Fortunately, though, he will not be away for long, with De Zerbi explaining: “And Lucas Bergvall because he had a problem in Manchester early on in the first chance he created for Dominic Solanke.

“He felt pain in his knee but felt fine and on Sunday he came to the training ground and he'll be out for two weeks.”

By that timeframe, he is expected to miss this weekend’s London derby.

Potential return date: October 31 vs Crystal Palace (H)

Mykhailo Mudryk

Tottenham signed Mykhailo Mudryk in a surprise loan deal from Chelsea on Deadline Day this summer, but he managed just one appearance before suffering an ankle injury in training.

De Zerbi has branded that injury “stupid,” and it has been reported it was expected to keep him sidelined for six to eight weeks.

Updates on his condition have been few and far between since then, but that initial prognosis could see him return to contention on Halloween night.

Potential return date: October 31 vs Crystal Palace (H)

Xavi Simons

Xavi Simons was struck down with an unfortunate ACL injury when Tottenham visited Wolves in April.

He immediately underwent surgery and missed the Netherlands’ World Cup campaign, but is pushing through his recovery at Hotspur Way.

He shared a video to his social media this week training with a ball at his feet, suggesting he is making positive progress.

Despite that, he is not expected to feature for Tottenham until the new year.

Potential return date: Early 2027

Wilson Odobert

Wilson Odobert tore the ACL in his left knee as Newcastle beat Tottenham back in February.

He underwent surgery and has been in recovery at Hotspur Way since. He is said to be progressing well, though, and could return sooner than the usual nine-month recovery timeline might suggest.
