Blacks Power, Kitara ousted from Hoima City stadium
Hoima City Stadium

Kitara and Blacks Power will have to look elsewhere for alternative venues to host their premier league matches after the National Council of Sports (NCS) allegedly cancelled their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The two premier league sides had their grounds fail to meet the Fufa licensing requirements and entered into an MoU with NCS to host matches at Hoima City stadium.

The development was confirmed by Blacks Power on Sunday October 18 revealing that their upcoming fixture against URA has been postponed due to lack of host venues.

“We regret to inform our fans and stakeholders that our UPL fixture against URA scheduled for Tuesday, 20th October 2026, at Hoima City Stadium, has been called off,” read a statement in parts from Blacks Power.

“The decision follows the National Council of Sports (NCS)’s cancellation of our Memorandum of Understanding to use the facility as our home ground for the first round of the season, citing the need to reserve the stadium exclusively for international matches.”

With this announcement, the Lira based side are working on an alternative venue

“The club is working to establish the next course of action, and further communication regarding the alternative home ground will be made in due course.”

Unconfirmed reports indicate Blacks Power will host their matches at Bukedea Comprehensive Sports Complex, also used by Kataka at the moment while Kitara, although yet to release a statement on the matter may return to Royals Park Butema (if passed) or Wankulukuku according to sources.
