Good Bye! Manchester United Recruitment Coach Connor Tagoe Announces Exit After Six Years At Old Trafford

Manchester United recruitment coach Connor Tagoe has announced his departure from the Premier League club after six years, bringing an end to his time at Old Trafford. Tagoe shared the news in a farewell message on LinkedIn, reflecting on his experience and expressing gratitude to the people he worked with during his stay.

In his message, Tagoe described his time at United as a valuable experience and thanked the club for the opportunity. “Big thanks to Manchester United for the last 6 years. My time has come to an end, it’s been a top experience,” he wrote, confirming that his chapter with the English football giants had closed.

He went on to appreciate the colleagues and professionals he encountered during his time at the club, saying he was grateful for the moments they shared. Tagoe also expressed optimism about what lies ahead, signalling that he is ready to pursue the next stage of his career in football.

Tagoe reportedly joined Manchester United in September 2020, combining recruitment and coaching responsibilities with his wider involvement in football development. Beyond his work at the club, he founded Vision Football Development Academy, an initiative focused on developing football talent and helping young players progress in the sport.

His experience in player development has also been associated with work involving several recognised footballers, including Chelsea forward Cole Palmer and former Nigeria international Victor Moses. His departure therefore marks a transition for a professional whose activities have spanned recruitment, coaching and the development of emerging talent.

The announcement comes during a challenging period for Manchester United, with questions surrounding the team’s performances and the future of head coach Michael Carrick. Reports have described growing pressure on the manager following disappointing results, although Tagoe’s departure has not been directly linked to the situation surrounding the coaching position.

Carrick had previously received praise for guiding United up the Premier League table after taking charge in January, according to the report. However, the club has reportedly struggled during the current campaign, increasing scrutiny of its performances and prompting speculation about possible changes in the technical setup.

Despite reports that Manchester United officials have considered potential managerial alternatives, including Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann, no appointment has been confirmed in connection with those discussions. For Tagoe, the immediate focus appears to be his next professional chapter after six years at one of football’s most recognisable clubs, with his farewell message marking the end of his Old Trafford journey.
