Leeds United will be aiming to get back to winning ways when they travel down south to take on AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, 31 October.

Daniel Farke’s side enter the fixture on the back of consecutive draws in the Premier League. On their last trip to Bournemouth, the Whites played out a dramatic 2-2 draw – a contest where all four goals came after the break, capped off by a late Sean Longstaff equaliser to rescue a point for Farke’s men.

They face a formidable test this weekend, however. Bournemouth appear to have firmly hit their stride under Marco Rose, winning each of their last five matches across all competitions. That run includes statement victories over Manchester United and AC Milan, made all the more staggering by the fact that the Cherries have scored 14 goals without conceding a single one.

Bournemouth trip too soon for Joe Rodon, but what about Anton Stach?

Speaking in his Thursday afternoon press conference ahead of the trip, Daniel Farke addressed the media with fresh updates on his squad’s health.

The primary concern heading into the weekend surrounds midfielder Anton Stach, who remains a major question mark. The German tactician confirmed that Stach is still hampered by a foot issue and faces a late race against time to feature.

Anton Stach is struggling still a bit with his foot injury, so let’s see. I hope it will get better in the next 48 hours. That’s a bit of a question mark.

On a brighter note, Farke delivered encouraging news elsewhere. Nico Elvedi has made a full recovery from a virus and is available for selection. Forward duo Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor have both completed a full, normal training week after overcoming recent minor niggles.

Furthermore, Joe Rodon has taken a major step forward in his recovery process, returning to part-integrated team training for the first time since yesterday following a lengthy absence. Meanwhile, young forward Mateo Joseph remains a long-term casualty as he continues his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) knee injury.

Bournemouth are without Alex Scott and two others for Leeds United clash

The hosts are also navigating their fair share of fitness complications ahead of Saturday’s clash on the south coast.

Bournemouth manager Rose will definitely be without Alex Toth and Julian Araujo, with both players ruled out due to ongoing thigh problems. Ben Dinnery of Premier Injuries has marked 21 November as the realistic return timeline for the Cherries duo.

Midfielder Alex Scott also remains sidelined for the next fortnight as he works his way back from a thigh injury, taking another key option off the table for Rose. He is not expected to be back until 8 November, as things stand.

Despite those three confirmed absentees, the Cherries’ defensive stability and recent scoring form mean Leeds United will need to be at their absolute sharpest to breach Rose’s side at the Vitality Stadium.
