Ethiopia's Diriba breaks Amsterdam Marathon's course record, Berhanu wins men's race

Ethiopia’s Buze Diriba, 32, set a course record at the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, winning the women’s race in wet and cold conditions. In the men’s race, Ethiopia’s Lemi Berhanu also took the victory, clocking 2:03:33.

Diriba finished with 2:16:10, which is way faster than the previous course record of 2:16:52 set by Yalemzerf Yehualaw in 2024. Fellow Ethiopian Aynalem Desta, last year’s winner, finished second this time around.

In the mens' race, Berhanu fell just three seconds short of the course record of 2:03:30 set by Kenya’s Geoffrey Kipchumba last year. Kenyan Nicholas Kipkorir finished second.

Noah Schutte was the top Dutch dinisher in 25th place. He ran 2:09:35, seven seconds off his personal record.
