WWE Rumors on Scary Bron Breakker Fall, R-Truth's Injury vs. Damian Priest and Ilja Dragunov in AEW
BR

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe and All Elite Wrestling.

Details on Breakker's Tough Landing at Live Event

Bron Breakker avoided injury despite a scary fall from the top rope during a match at a WWE live event on Saturday night.

Teaming with fellow Vision members Bronson Reed and Austin Theory against Oba Femi, LA Knight and Penta in the main event, Breakker lost his footing on the top rope during a spot with Knight and appeared to land awkwardly on his neck:

Breakker was fortunately fine after the spot, as evidenced by the fact that he competed in a hard-hitting singles match against Penta on Monday night's episode of Raw.

According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select (h/t H Jenkins of Ringside News), there was "no heat" on anyone for the spot that went awry, as it was considered "a simple sort of mistake."

WrestleVotes added that people backstage in WWE decided to "no-sell" the situation rather than making it a major talking point within the company.

Given his high-impact style, Breakker does have a penchant for putting himself in harm's way at times during his matches.

At the same time, his speed, explosiveness and athleticism are what set him apart from most other Superstars, so it makes sense for him to lean into it.

Breakker was lucky to walk away from the fall with nothing significantly wrong with him, and the fact that he is already back in the ring and performing at a high level is a good sign that he should be OK moving forward.

Priest Reportedly Made Call to End Match vs. Truth

Damian Priest was reportedly the one who made the decision to end his match against R-Truth early on SmackDown last week.

According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t WrestlePurists), Priest "made the call" to quickly move to the finish once he realized that Truth had gotten injured.

Alvarez praised Priest for managing to stay in character throughout the ordeal, as he never let on that he was concerned about Truth's health.

When Truth was unable to get up after executing a missile dropkick, Priest calmly spoke to the referee and went outside the ring to grab a steel chair.

That allowed Fraxiom time to run down and protect Truth from Priest, prompting Priest to leave the ring without inflicting further damage.

On Monday, Truth posted a photo of himself on X, seemingly preparing to undergo an MRI:

Truth noted in the post that he is "OK," while joking that Priest "tried to kill" him.

Priest and Truth held the WWE Tag Team Championships together from March until dropping them to The MFTs in August.

Despite that run of success, Priest turned on Truth shortly after they lost the championships, noting within the storyline that he felt Truth was holding him back.

A former world heavyweight champion, Priest is now able to portray a more serious character once again, and it could help him move back up the card in the singles ranks on SmackDown.

WWE's Reported Reaction to Dragunov Joining AEW

There are reportedly no hard feelings from anyone in WWE regarding Ilja Dragunov's decision to sign with AEW.

According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select (h/t Jenkins), when it comes to Dragunov, WWE wrestlers and management both "wish him well."

WrestleVotes added that there is "no animosity," and everyone who was friends with Dragunov in WWE is "happy" to see him doing what he wants to do in his career.

At the AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view on Saturday, Dragunov debuted for the company by making his entrance and eliciting a positive reaction from the live crowd.

It had been anticipated for several weeks that Dragunov was going to sign and debut with AEW following the expiration of his WWE contract.

A 33-year-old wrestler from Russia, Dragunov had been with WWE since 2019, and he enjoyed success at numerous levels.

Dragunov was the United Kingdom champion in NXT UK and the NXT champion in NXT before holding the United States Championship once on the main roster.

However, after dropping the U.S. title to Carmelo Hayes in December 2025, Dragunov's role and television time were diminished.

He last competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April, and he was off WWE TV for months after that until reports emerged that he was leaving the company.

Dragunov accomplished a great deal in WWE, but there is little doubt that his hard-hitting style in the ring should fit well in AEW, plus there is no shortage of potential dream matches at his disposal.
