BRUNO FERNANDES has publicly criticized Michael Carrick’s tactics following a new low for Manchester United this season.
The Red Devils faced a heavy 4-1 loss at Como, plunging their manager into a crisis as he fights to retain his position.
Following his substitution midway through the second half, a visibly upset Fernandes was seen shaking his head.
The United captain suggested that Carrick’s strategies played a significant role in the Champions League debacle.
Fernandes stated to TNT Sports: “The decision from the staff was to avoid man-to-man pressing, leaving space behind and trying to win the ball by waiting for them.
“However, allowing space to these teams can give them confidence.”

When asked if Carrick’s tactics were miscalculated, Fernandes responded: “That’s for the manager and his staff to assess, not for me.
“At times, we need to be braver under pressure, taking the risk of pressing high and putting them on the back foot.”
Fernandes is the second senior player to express frustration in an explosive interview in just EIGHT days.
Lisandro Martinez shocked many at Old Trafford with a harsh critique of director of football Jason Wilcox’s recruitment efforts following last week’s defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Carrick, 45, acknowledged that he should be held accountable for United’s dreadful showing against Como.
He said: “I take full responsibility for the team’s performance.
“It all rests on my shoulders, and I’m completely fine with that. I accept it entirely.
“As a supporter of this club for so long, witnessing a performance like that is simply unacceptable, I must say.”
Carrick gave Matthijs de Ligt his first start in 325 days during United’s trip to Italy, hoping to finally ignite their season.
Yet the Red Devils fell behind within two minutes due to Nico Paz’s curling shot.
The Argentine doubled his tally after the break, with teammates Tasos Douvikas and Jacobo Ramon also scoring, marking a dismal evening for United.
Joshua Zirkzee provided a late consolation goal for the struggling Red Devils.
