A scene of chaos erupted in the Canadian Premier League when a player was shown a red card for elbowing a ballboy.
Following a VAR review, Supra player Alessandro Biello was sent off, and the ballboy, who had been elbowed, shamelessly leaped in celebration with the home fans.
Biello, whose team was trailing to Cavalry in the second leg of the CPL playoffs, appeared to elbow the ballboy as he hurried to restart play from a throw-in.
In response, the young boy acted as if he were a seasoned professional, dramatically falling backward as if trying to provoke a red card for the opposing player.
And indeed, the peculiar VAR review vindicated the desires of the Cavalry ballboy.
The commentators were left bewildered by the incident, stating, “I have never encountered this before in my 401 games of CPL commentary; this is a first for me.”

The late dismissal added the finishing touch to an already stellar afternoon for the Cavalry and the ballboy, as the Calgary club moved on to the playoff final.
They will face Atletico Ottawa for the second consecutive year.
Meanwhile, Biello’s dramatic display will result in a suspension to start the new football season in Canada.

Hazard infamously kicked a Swansea ballboy and received a red card during Chelsea’s League Cup semi-final defeat against the Swans.
However, unlike the Canadian counterpart, that ballboy, Swansea local Charlie Morgan, did not celebrate when Hazard was shown the red card.
Since then, he’s amassed £300MILLION through his luxury vodka brand, Au Vodka, and they’ve met multiple times since the incident in 2013.
