JEAN-PHILIPPE MATETA left fans in stitches when he playfully pulled Wilfred Ndidi’s shirt over his head during Palace’s draw against Besiktas.
Both players found the net in an entertaining 2-2 draw in Istanbul during the Europa League match on Thursday night.
However, it was the comical exchange between Palace forward Mateta and former Leicester City midfielder Ndidi that captured everyone’s attention.
As they battled for the ball, Mateta managed to shake off Ndidi and sprint away.
However, as Mateta pulled ahead of Ndidi, he tugged at the back of his shirt, inadvertently pulling it completely over Ndidi’s head.
The strange scene left Ndidi looking bewildered with his face obscured by the white shirt.

A fourth remarked: “Ndidi battling Mateta for the ball without seeing a thing.”
A fifth added: “I died lol, the world’s funniest thing just happened between Mateta and Ndidi.”
Surprisingly, the referee failed to call a foul against Besiktas after the commotion, which shocked many fans of the Turkish team.
One Besiktas supporter commented: “I’ve never seen such nonsense in any match in my life.”
Ndidi scored the opening goal for Besiktas just before halftime, but Yeremy Pinto equalized shortly after the break.
Mateta then put Palace ahead just minutes later, but Junior Olaitan brought it back to level for the home side in the 73rd minute.
Besiktas ended the match with ten men after Umit Akdag received a red card, yet they managed to secure a valuable point.
Ndidi, who spent nine years with Leicester, made 303 appearances for the Foxes, winning both the FA Cup and Community Shield during his tenure.
