Temba Bavuma’s side have confirmed their team for the final Test against Australia, with one change from the side that levelled the series in Gqeberha.

South Africa have named an unchanged batting line-up and one change to the bowling attack for the third Test against Australia at Newlands, with Gerald Coetzee replacing Anrich Nortje.

Nortje was ruled out with a mild groin injury after hurting himself while bowling in the second Test in Gqeberha.

Temba Bavuma confirmed the side on Monday, with the series level at 1-1 and the decider starting on Tuesday. Australia won the first Test by 214 runs, and South Africa levelled with an innings and 31-run win in Gqeberha.

Bavuma made 179 and Marco Jansen took 5-33 in that win. Kagiso Rabada took 4-77 and Wiaan Mulder 3-64 in Australia’s second innings.

Ryan Rickelton keeps the gloves, and Marques Ackerman, who made his debut in the second Test, remains in the top order. Matthew Breetzke, who replaced Tristan Stubbs for the second Test, keeps his place.

Simon Harmer is again the only specialist spinner, while Keshav Maharaj and Senuran Muthusamy miss out.

Play at Newlands starts at 10:30 local time on Tuesday 27 October.
