Vincent Kompany was replaced by board member for sport Max Eberl for the post-match press conference after FC Bayern's 6-1 win over RB Leipzig. The Belgian coach has been struggling with a hip problem, which meant he had to celebrate the goals staying rooted to his seat.

“Nothing stops him from being with the team. He sat on the bench, so it wasn't a big problem,” Eberl clarified the situation after the game. It’s also reported that Kompany has a cold during the week.

“He (Kompany) didn't actively coach the team on the sideline. Aaron (Danks) and René (Maric) took over, and it shows how harmonious the staff is. I assume it won't be a problem on Wednesday” Eberl added regarding Kompany's availability for the game against last season's finalists.

FC Bayern ended their mini-slump with half a dozen goals against Champions League participants RB Leipzig. The result saw them climbed to the top of the Bundesliga before Freiburg's visit to Leverkusen on Sunday.
