St David’s Marist Inanda Set for a Weekend of Sporting Action

St David’s Marist Inanda is gearing up for a weekend of sporting action from 22 to 25 October 2026, hosting tournaments across cricket, water polo and basketball. The programme brings together school teams, young athletes and established competitors for four days of competition, sportsmanship and talent development.

The 2026 St David’s ATBMI T10 Cricket Festival will feature Grade 6 players and selected Grade 5 cricketers competing on the College’s main grass cricket fields. The festival will also feature the Temba Bavuma XI Tigers, named in honour of the school alumnus and Proteas captain Temba Bavuma. Title sponsor ATBMI supports the festival’s focus on participation, player development and growing the game.

The Inanda Cup will feature Prep Stayers and U14 water polo tournaments, with round-robin matches and crossover play-offs determining the final standings. Teams will compete under applicable World Aquatics rules adopted by Schools Water Polo South Africa, with penalty shoot-outs deciding matches tied at full-time.

Beyond the competition, the tournaments aim to promote teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship and connections between participating schools and sporting communities.

Rounding out the programme, Inanda Hoops will bring basketball to the court, with reigning Basketball National League champions Soweto Panthers making a special appearance to inspire the next generation of players.

Together, the three tournaments highlight St David’s Marist Inanda’s commitment to sporting excellence, youth development and community. Families, coaches and supporters are invited to rally behind the teams as young athletes compete, learn and grow across the three sporting codes.

Spectators can follow festival information, updates and match details through the Festival app, available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
