Tottenham supporters have been full of praise for Tosin Adarabioyo following his impressive Premier League debut against Coventry City.
Tosin Adarabioyo earned his first Premier League start in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt in the Lilywhites’ clash against Coventry City.
The former Chelsea defender featured at centre-back and often found himself in the middle of a back three when Roberto De Zerbi’s side were in possession.
Overall, he looked solid, with his underlying numbers highlighting his impact on Tottenham’s backline. Tosin won 100% of his ground duels and 88% of his aerial duels, proving himself a dominant presence.
De Zerbi was pleased with Tosin’s display, making it clear that he believes the centre-back deserves to play after such an impressive performance.
He said: “I think the players, they don’t believe in themselves like I believe in them. I consider, honestly, and I don’t want to say nothing more, that we have a great squad, great players.
“I’m happy for Tosin, because he deserves to play. He’s great as a personality, as a behaviour, as a spirit. It’s important, crucial in the dressing room. Then, at Old Trafford, Marcos Senesi played very well. We just need to believe more in ourselves and to keep working with this mentality seriously.”
The Spurs boss, though, was not the only one pleased with Tosin’s performance on Monday night. Tottenham fans were equally impressed, with many sharing their assessments of the centre‑back’s debut with Spurs Web.

Tosin did not complete the ninety minutes against Coventry, as he was forced off after picking up a knock. However, De Zerbi confirmed afterwards that there was no injury concern, saying: “No, no, no, I think there are no injuries, nothing important.”
With such a standout display, Tosin is already proving to be good value for money, having been signed for only £12 million on deadline day.
He arrived as a replacement for Kevin Danso, who moved to Sunderland in search of more game time, and has proven to be a capable successor.
The Austrian has struggled to make a strong start with the Black Cats, with his latest outing against Bournemouth ending in disappointment after he was sent off in a 2–0 defeat that has left Sunderland rooted to the bottom of the table.
