Cristiano Ronaldo Submits CV and 2,000-Word Statement to Portugal’s FA Amid Ban Decision Developments

CRISTIANO RONALDO submitted his CV along with a 2,000-word statement in response to Portugal’s FA regarding the charge of departing from the national team camp following his altercation with manager Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo, 41, experienced a significant disagreement with Jesus, 72, during the latest international break after being benched for the Nations League match against Norway in Oslo.

The Al-Nassr superstar requested face-to-face discussions with the Portuguese tactician on Wednesday, which also included the national team’s FA president Pedro Proenca.

However, the star forward later departed from the training camp, flying back to Madrid via private jet, as he maintained that Jesus had broken his word on two occasions.

In a nearly 2,000-word post on social media, the Portugal captain elaborated on his perspective, claiming he had agreed to an eight-point statement to be issued by his manager as a part of a public apology that ultimately was never presented.

As reported by Sky Sports, Ronaldo was asked to provide evidence to support any mitigating circumstances following his charge.

The Real Madrid icon submitted his CV, detailing the prestigious trophies he has captured throughout his illustrious 24-year career.

This included three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, two LaLiga championships, two Copa Del Rey titles, two Serie A trophies, five Champions League wins, and Euro 2016.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner received a comically light penalty, being fined just £215—a sum he can earn in approximately 30 seconds due to his staggering £225.5 million annual salary.

The Manchester United legend was also given a 30-day suspension, which will end before Portugal’s upcoming match against Denmark on November 14.

The ruling from the Portuguese FA states, “Considering the mitigating factors of having provided significant services to football and being acknowledged for his athletic achievements, the defendant Cristiano Ronaldo presented his athletic CV, which includes the awards and accolades he has received throughout his career (pages 126 to 128 of the case file).”

Ronaldo has expressed regret to fans for not acknowledging their support and for leaving his teammates after the match in Norway.

The former Juventus star confirmed he is still available for selection after completing any imposed sanctions.

Manager Jesus asserted that there remain no issues between the two despite their public and heated conflict.
