Acqua S.Bernardo visits Pallacanestro Trieste at the PalaRuffini in an early-season Serie A clash that pits two winless teams against each other in the fight for survival, local reporting indicates.

Early Struggles at the Bottom of the Standings

Both Cantù and Trieste sit at zero points in the league table alongside Scafati, leaving all three squads searching for an early spark. The stakes are already high even before the completion of the first month of the regular season, with both clubs carrying the weight of demanding summer survival battles into the matchup.

Vitucci Calls for Tactical Focus and Full-Game Intensity

Cantù head coach Frank Vitucci highlighted attention and mental clarity as the primary requirements for his squad heading into Sunday’s contest. Vitucci stressed that his team must limit Trieste’s offensive bursts, particularly in transition and from beyond the three-point arc, while also securing defensive rebounds and maintaining performance levels across all forty minutes. The coaching staff emphasized that competing for the entire duration has not always happened consistently during the preseason and opening three fixtures.

Olisevicius Set to Provide Experience and Stability

Cantù will take the floor without Federico Ventura, who faces an estimated two-week absence due to an injury. However, the roster addition of forward Evaldas Olisevicius provides an immediate boost in experience and floor management. Vitucci, who previously coached the Lithuanian player at Treviso, noted that Olisevicius brings substance, minimal fuss, and reliable decision-making precisely when the team needs stability.
